PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Robust relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan are in the interest of the region and its people, says a top Afghan diplomat.
Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan Maulvi Sardar Ahmed Shakib stoutly supported efforts for boosting ties between the two countries.
Shakib met Adviser to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister on Information Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif in Islamabad on Wednesday.
Senior politician Muhammad Ali Durrani and Maulana Fazlur Rehman Khalil also attended the meeting.
Saif conveyed a special message from ex-prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan and KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur to Afghan leadership.
Saif said Imran and Gandapur sent a message of goodwill to the government and people of Afghanistan.
The participants underlined the importance of promoting friendly, mutually trustworthy and cooperative relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
The advisor also discussed plans to lead a delegation of tribal and political leaders from KP to Afghanistan.
Shakib expressed reciprocal goodwill sentiments towards Imran, Gandapur and the delegation.
He commended efforts by Saif, Durrani and others for boosting relations between the two countries. Cooperative Kabul-Islamabad ties were in the interest of the region, he believed.
