KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi has reaffirmed the caretaker government’s commitment to positive engagement with the international community.
He outlined the government’s stance at a meeting with Norwegian Charge d’Affaires Per Albert Ilsaas here on Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) said.
A statement from the ministry said the two sides discussed political, economic and humanitarian issues.
Underscoring the opportunities arising in Afghanistan, Muttaqi reiterated the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA)’s stance on maintaining positive engagement with the international community.
He also stressed the need for regional and international collaboration on advancing Afghanistan’s economic growth and development.
For his part, Per Albert Ilsaas praised the security situation in Afghanistan and the caretaker government’s efforts for combating narcotics.
He affirmed his country’s commitment to continued engagement with and sustained activities in Afghanistan, the ministry concluded.
