KABUL (Pajhwok): The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) cabinet has tasked relevant entities with accelerating work on electricity supply process and taking necessary measures.
Prime Minister Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund presided over a cabinet meeting on Monday, the Administrative Affairs Office said in a statement.
It added various issues came up for discussion and important decisions were made at the meeting.
During the meeting, the General Directorate of Emirate-Owned Companies was assigned to expedite electricity supply process and take necessary measures in this regard.
Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs was tasked with convening a meeting with representatives from the Ministry of Water and Energy and Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) to clarify their operational directions in the electricity sector in detail and enhance coordination and cooperation.
The Ministry of Economy was instructed to oversee matters related to the utilization of the development budget and the timely implementation of projects in coordination with all relevant agencies.
Several other matters were also assigned to specific delegations, which were instructed to finalize their tasks and present reports at the next Cabinet meeting.
