KABUL (Pajhwok): Head of the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has said that Curbs on women education and work would result in long term damages.
She expressed the view during a meeting with the representatives of the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC), UNAMA said on its x.com.
The discussions were focused on the evaluation of the current situation of Afghan girls and women, the source said.
The UNAMA chief said the current restrictions on the education and work of Afghan girls and women will cause long-term damages, she stressed on practical steps on the removal of these restrictions.
Before this, the envoys of the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) and Asian Development Bank (ADB) officials have discussed ways to support Afghan women and children.
The officials of the Islamic Emirate had always said they were committed to addressing such issues at the light of Islamic Sharia.
