Sardar Dawoud Khan Hospital gets new facilities

KABUL (Pajhwok): A new 100-bed branch, separate treatment hospital for civilian patients and a fully equipped NKC Camp has been put into operation in the Sardar Mohammad Dawoud Khan Complex, a statement said on Thursday.

Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar, deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, acting Defence Minister Mawlavi Mohammad Yaqoub Mujahid and Army Chief Qari Fasihuddin were present during the inauguration ceremony. The Sardar Mohammad Dawoud Khan Complex belongs to the Ministry of Defence.

The new facilities included a new 100-bed ward, a hospital built for civilian patients, and the transfer of the former NATO command center (NKC Camp) to the said complex.

The source added that four new medical centers have been opened in the NKC Camp and this camp has also been transferred to the Sardar Mohammad Dawoud Khan Hospital Complex.

Acting Minister of National Defense, Maulvi Mohammad Yaqub Mujahid, said at the ceremony that he was determined to provide the best treatment to the patients at home.

He added that currently, the health services at Sardar Mohammad Dawoud Khan Hospital have improved compared to the past and complex operations were being successfully performed there.

Referring to the NCC camp, he said: “Previously, the invaders used to plan to kill Afghans from here, but from now on, the lives of Afghan patients would be saved here.”

Army Chief Gen. Qari Fasihuddin Fitrat, also made similar statements at the ceremony.

He said: “The enemies of Afghanistan who are holding meetings in Vienna under the name of ‘Afghanistan after the Taliban’ and plotting against the current system should know that they have been rejected by the nation and will not achieve their evil goals.”
