KABUL (Pajhwok): Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s (IEA) Supreme Leader Sheikh Haibatullah Akhundzada says religious scholars are obliged to actively work toward resolving people’s problems in their respective provinces.
He issued the call at a meeting with Uruzgan’s Ulema Council members and tribal elders, IEA chief spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid wrote on his X handle.
During the gathering, Maulvi Abdul Ghaffar, head of the council, said they had made efforts to convey the leadership’s directives and recommendations to all parts of the province.
He also highlighted the challenges faced by residents of the province.
Sheikh Haibatullah Akhundzada acknowledged the concerns, believing it was an opportune time for scholars to serve the nation.
He urged religious scholars to actively contribute to efforts for promoting public awareness and dissemination of Islamic teachings.
Additionally, he underlined the scholars’ responsibility to mediate conflicts and help resolve public grievances in their respective provinces.
The IEA supreme leader also assured that efforts would be made to address the challenges faced by the people of Uruzgan.
