KABUL (Pajhwok): Forty-seven Daesh (ISIS) suspects have been detained in 22 cities across Turkey in a series of targeted operations called “Mace-48”, the interior ministry in Ankara said on Thursday.
Daily Sabah said Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya wrote on his social media page that “Mace-48” operations in 22 cities led to the incarceration of 47 suspected ISIS members.
The suspects were detained for their membership in the terrorist group, aiding, financing and carrying out its propaganda online, Yerlikaya wrote.
He added the operations were conducted in Adana, Antalya, Aydın, Bursa, Çankırı, Elazığ, Erzincan, Gaziantep, Giresun, Hatay, Istanbul, Izmir, Kahramanmaraş, Kayseri, Kırıkkale, Kırşehir, Kütahya, Mersin, Ordu, Osmaniye, Şanlıurfa and Yozgat cities.
