2 brothers killed, father injured in Maidan Wardak clash

MAIDAN SHAHR (Pajhwok): At least two people have been killed and a third injured in an armed dispute between locals and nomads in central Maidan Wardak province, the governor’s house said on Wednesday.

In a statement, the governor’s office said the dispute over mountain bushes took place in Jangjai village of Sayedabad district, in which two brothers were killed and their farther injured.

The alleged killers fled the area after the incident, but security forces succeeded to detain them from neighboring Ghazni and Logar provinces and they will be referred to judicial authorities after investigations, the statement added.

Mullah Mirwais Akhundzada, Sayedabad district chief, said: “Nomads involved in the incident fled the area after the dispute, but security forces arrested one of them from Ghazni’s Zanakhan district and five others from Kharwar district of Logar.”

The governor’s office also gave 50,000 afghanis in aid to the family of the victims.
