Daikundi residents raise money to construct school building

NEILI (Pajhwok): Spending their own money, local residents have started constructing building for a high school in Shahristan district of central Daikundi province, an official said on Tuesday.

Ibrahim Askari, head of Publications at the Education Department, said residents had raised more than two million afghanis for the building of Mamloq High School for boys.

At the opening ceremony, Rahmatullah Qandili, education director, expressed gratitude for the efforts and hard work of people to begin construction of the school.

He promised the local administration, especially the Education Department, would provide all assistance and cooperation to the people in accordance with principles.

Residents explained students would be able to continue their education in a suitable environment and create brighter future after completion of this project.

According to Arif Hossaini, a resident, the people of Mamloq area decided to build this school themselves to create a suitable learning environment for their children.

He said the school would have eight classrooms and four office rooms. Arif asked well-off people to help them complete this public benefit project.
