Afghan couple gunned down in Karachi

PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): An Afghan couple has been gunned down in the Sohrab Goth area of Pakistan’s port city of Karachi.

Police said Mohammed Azam, 50, and Gul Bibi, 40, were shot dead inside their house in Afghan Camp neighbourhood on Wednesday.

A lone gunman entered the house and killed the couple, whose bodies were taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

Police official Sohail Khaskheli said Azam worked at a garment factory. His first spouse lives with six children in Afghanistan.

Azam had married Gul Bibi some three years ago, the officer said, linking the double murder to personal enmity.
