Afghan team off to Saudi Arabia for U-17 Asia Cup

KABUL (Pajhwok): The U-17 national football team has left for Jeddah, the Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) said on Saturday.

In a statement on its Facebook account, AFF said the national squad departed for Saudi Arabia Saturday morning.

The 2025 U-17 Asian Cup, featuring a total of 16 teams, will be hosted by Saudi Arabia from April 3 to 20.

Afghanistan is placed in Group C together with South Korea, Yemen and Indonesia.

Afghan U-17 football team head coach Elyas Manochehri recently told Pajhwok News the side was ready for AFC Asia Cup and other contests.
