Iran’s trade minister to visit Kabul soon

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Iranian Embassy in Kabul has announced that Seyed Mohammad Atabak, Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade, is scheduled to visit Afghanistan in the near future.

In a post on X, the embassy said that Iran’s Charge d’Affaires, Alireza Bikdeli, discussed strengthening industrial and trade relations between the two nations during a meeting with Atabak.

The Minister emphasized the importance of cooperation with Afghanistan and confirmed that he would be visiting soon, leading a delegation.

Last year, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in Kabul said that Afghanistan exported goods worth $1.78 billion to Iran, while imports from Iran totaled $11 billion.

The highest exports from Afghanistan were directed to Pakistan, India, the United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Turkey, Iraq, and Tajikistan.

Meanwhile, the highest imports came from Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, China, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, India, and Malaysia.

Additionally, Iranian media highlighted that Afghanistan was one of the seven major export destinations for Iran, with non-oil exports amounting to $2.414 billion last year.
