Teenager killed, 3 injured in Nuristan avalanche

ASADABAD (Pajhwok): A teenage boy has died and three others were injured in an avalanche in eastern Nuristan province, an official said on Tuesday.

Fraidon Samim, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the incident occurred in the Pronez mountainous area, where the boys had gone to collect plants on Monday.

Samim said that one teenager lost his life, while three others were injured.

“The victims, aged between 14 and 16, included a 16-year-old boy, Qari Saeed, who was martyred, and three others who sustained injuries,” the spokesman added.

According to Samim, the injured are said to be in stable condition.
