KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Two children have been killed and five others injured when the roof of a room collapsed in southern Kandahar province.
Mullah Abdul Salam Omari, head of the Kandahar Disaster Management Authority, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place around 9:00 PM on Thursday night in the 15th district of Kandahar city.
He said a boy and a girl lost their lives, while four boys and another girl were injured.
The exact cause of the collapse remains unclear, but a family member, Nek Mohammad, said the house was old and its walls had weakened due to recent rainfall.
He added the incident occurred during a family gathering, though no one else was harmed.
