TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): A private company has launched an affordable bus service between Tirinkot and Dehrawud district in central Uruzgan province, an official announced on Thursday.
Transport and Civil Aviation Director Hafiz Zalmi told Pajhwok Afghan News a private transport company had initiated the service between the provincial capital and Dehrawud, using two buses.
He said: “At present, two passenger buses have been deployed to transport people from Tirinkot to Dehrawud and back.”
He added the number of buses would be increased depending on demand. He hoped passengers would be able to travel comfortably and at reasonable fares.
Meanwhile, residents of the district welcomed the launch of the service, but noted two buses were insufficient to meet the needs of the entire area.
Two weeks ago, a bus service was launched between Pul-i-Alam, the capital of central Logar province, and Kabul.
