GARDEZ (Pajhwok): Two children have been killed as a result of a lightning strike in southeastern Paktia province, an official said on Saturday.
Natural Disaster Management Director Maulvi Nisar Ahmad Nijat told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place in Niazi village of Gardez, the provincial capital, on Friday night.
He said two children lost their lives in the incident. He added residents of the province also suffered financial losses due to Friday’s rainfall and floods.
