KABUL (Pajhwok): The Natural Disaster Preparedness Authority (NDPA) has inked three cooperation agreements worth 1.320 million US dollars with three NGOs.
The agreements were signed between NDPA Chief Mullah Nooruddin Torabi and Community World Service Asia head Hizbul Rahman, International Rescue Committee (IRC) Director Ms. Shirin Hassan and Good Neighbours International Organisation (GNIO) chief Abdul Satar Sayed, NDPA said in a statement.
Under the agreements, IRC would spend $1.19 million in cash assistance to 2,080 families in western Badghis province.
The CWSA would prepare natural disaster risk maps at a cost of $211,880 in Kabul, Nangarhar, Laghman and Kunar provinces.
It said GNIO would build a 100-metre-long retaining wall at a cost of $90,000 in the Nijrab district of Kapisa in order to reduce flood risks.
Earlier, NDPA had signed similar agreements with various organisations.
