Afghan U-16 football team leaves for Uzbekistan

KABUL (Pajhwok): The under-16 national football team left for Uzbekistan on Wednesday to participate in the Central Asian Football Confederation (CAFC) Championship.

The Afghanistan Football Federation wrote on its Facebook page that the defending champions departed for Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, on Wednesday.

Hosted by Uzbekistan, the Central Asian Football Confederation (CAFC) Championship will commence on May 24.

Besides Afghanistan, football teams from Iran, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan are participating in the event.

It is worth mentioning Afghanistan won the championship of these competitions last year.
