HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): A 25-tonne shipment of pickles produced by a private company has been exported from western Herat province to European countries for the first time via Rozank-Khawaf railway line.
Herat governor Maulana Noor Ahmad Islamjar considered this export an important step on the path to economic development and emphasized that many facilities have been provided for traders in the field of exports.
He said the local administration is trying to provide more facilities for all traders and producers in terms of exports and imports as soon as possible.
On the other hand, Noor Ahmad Alizai, head of Gulnavaz Food Products Manufacturing Company, explained these pickles are made from agricultural products of local farmers and are packaged and prepared for export in accordance with international standards.
This shipment weighs 25 tonnes and the Gulnaz Company has plans to export more shipments abroad in the future. head of Industry and Commerce Department Maulvi Bashir Mohammad Sirat said.
According to Sirat, Herat has diverse agricultural products such as saffron, grapes, honey, cucumbers, pickles, figs, and garlic, which are exported to foreign countries.
Previously, various types of food and non-food items have been exported from the Herat Industrial City to European and American markets.
