KABUL (Pajhwok): Former president Hamid Karzai and former head of the High Council for National Reconciliation in the previous government Dr. Abdullah Abdullah have condemned Israel’s airstrikes on Iran, calling them against international law and human rights principles.
Hamid Karzai on his Facebook page said Israel’s attacks on Iran this morning were against international law and strongly condemned them.
He added: “Iran is a good neighbor and has historical and cultural commonalities with Afghanistan, and has always supported and cooperated with our people in difficult times.”
The former Afghan president said that the world needs peace and tranquility more than ever before and the people of the world are impatiently demanding an end to wars in all parts of the world.
Similarly, Dr. Abdullah also wrote on his X page: “We strongly condemn the Zionist regime’s blatant and illegal aggression on Iranian soil. This hostile act is not only a clear violation of all international principles and human rights, but also a clear sign of this regime’s terrorist and expanding policy.”
He added: “We express our deepest sympathy to our friendly and brotherly country, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and extend our condolences to the noble Iranian nation and the families of the martyrs and we pray to God Almighty for a speedy and complete recovery for the injured.”
He called on international institutions, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the free countries of the world to abandon their neutral and silent stance and take a clear and decisive stance against Israel’s ‘blatant aggression’ and ‘criminal actions’.
