Kandahar shopkeeper shot dead near his house

KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen have shot dead a young man in southern Kandahar province, an official said on Monday.

Police spokesman Mullah Asadullah Jamshed told Pajhwok Afghan News that the victim owned a shop on Rangrizan Street in the 1st municipality district. He was gunned down near his home on Sunday night.

Security forces have launched an investigation and launched a manhunt to arrest the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

Meanwhile, the victim’s brother, Timur Shah, claimed the murder was carried out by robbers who have since fled the area.
