Jawzjan families reconcile after 12 years of enmity

SHIBERGHAN (Pajhwok): A 12-year-old enmity between two families has been resolved in northern Jawzjan province through mediation of local officials, scholars and tribal elders.

Head of Borders and Tribal Affairs Maulvi Ghulam Nabi Samim told Pajhwok Afghan News the feud surfaced 12 years ago over a land dispute between two families of Tor Khel village of Shiberghan city. The enmity came to an end after several jirgas today (Saturday).

According to him, the conflict was resolved with close cooperation of scholars, tribal elders, and emirate departments.

Tribal elders and parties to the conflict appreciated what they called effective efforts of officials of the Border and Tribal Affairs department.
