KABUL (Pajhwok): The Cabinet has approved land acquisition for the third phase of the Andkhoi–Shiberghan railway and endorsed a 50 percent cut in mapping and permit fees for construction firms, an official said on Tuesday.
Hamdullah Fitrat, the deputy spokesman for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA), stated on his X account that Prime Minister Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund presided over the sixth Cabinet meeting on Monday.
He said the Ministry of Public Works’ proposal for acquiring land for the third phase of the Andkhoi–Shiberghan railway project was approved, describing it as a significant step towards strengthening the country’s railway infrastructure.
Fitrat added that the Cabinet had also approved a 50 percent reduction in mapping and permit fees for construction companies, a move expected to streamline administrative procedures and accelerate development projects.
