Anti-polio drive to begin in Nangarhar, Nuristan tomorrow

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Polio-Free Afghanistan Foundation says it will launch an anti- polio vaccination campaign tomorrow in eastern Nangarhar and Nuristan provinces.

The foundation wrote on its Facebook page today that the partial polio vaccination campaign will begin tomorrow in 17 districts of Nangarhar and four districts of Nuristan.

However, the foundation did not name the districts where the campaign will be implemented.

The foundation said both types of polio vaccines (droplet OPV and injectable fIPV) will be given to children in selected areas to strengthen their immune system and prevent the spread of the virus.
