Man, woman lashed in public in Maidan Wardak

MAIDAN SHAHR (Pajhwok): A woman and a man were lashed 20 times each in public over illicit relationship after being convicted of the crime in central Maidan Wardak province, the apex court said on Friday.

The Supreme Court in a statement said the Maidan Wardak urban primary court had sentenced the two people, including a woman, for the crime of illicit relations.

It said the primary court had sentenced the two to 20 lashes each and the decision was implemented after the Supreme Court’s leadership confirmed it.
