Man publicly executed under qisas in Badghis

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Supreme Court says a man was publicly executed in the sports stadium of Qala-i-Naw, the capital of Badghis province, after being convicted of double murder.

A statement from the apex court said that the murderer was a resident of Jawand district and had killed two people.

The Supreme Court wrote that the matter was investigated by three courts affiliated with the Supreme Court of the Islamic Emirate and as a result, a retaliation in kind punishment was issued and confirmed against the murderer.

According to the source, an extraordinary investigation was also conducted by the leadership of the Islamic Emirate as a last precaution.

An offer of forgiveness and peace was made to the victims’ family, and after they declined, an order was given to implement the Sharia ruling of qisas on the murderer.
