21 killed, 25 injured in Kenya landslide

<p style="text-align: justify;">KABUL (Pajhwok): At least 21 people have been killed and 25 others injured after heavy rainfall triggered a landslide in Kenya, according to media reports.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Al Jazeera reported that the disaster occurred in the mountainous Chesongoch area of Elgeyo-Marakwet County, where intense rainfall is common during the short rainy season.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Kenyan Interior Minister Kipchumba Murkomen said that search and rescue operations were underway, led by security forces, to locate survivors.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">He confirmed that at least 21 people had lost their lives, 25 others were injured, and 30 people remained missing following the landslide. More than 1,000 houses have also been destroyed.</p>
