KABUL (Pajhwok): At least 12 people were killed and 20 others injured in an explosion in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, on Tuesday, media reports said.
Geo News reported that the explosion occurred around 12:30pm near the entrance of the Islamabad district court, inside a vehicle and was heard from a distance. The vehicle caught fire and the flames spread to nearby vehicles.
Citing sources, Geo News said that among the casualties were lawyers and civilians.
Pakistan’s police confirmed that the incident was a suicide attack and that the attacker’s head was recovered from the scene.
