KABUL (Pajhwok): A nearly 20-year-old feud between two families in the Babos village in the capital of central Logar province has been resolved through mediation of local officials, religious scholars and tribal elders.
Sediq Ahmad Sediqi, spokesman for the provincial governor, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the dispute had erupted around 20 years ago due to family issues. Three people, including a woman, had been killed and another wounded in the conflict.
He added the long-standing feud was settled with the mediation of local officials, religious scholars and tribal elders and the parties involved forgave one another.
During the reconciliation gathering, tribal elders, religious scholars and Jihadi figures highlighted the importance and value of forgiveness according to Islamic principles and advised both families to live peacefully.
The rival families also forgave each other and pledged to live in harmony and fully end their conflict.
