Ghazni exhibition showcases modern agricultural machinery

GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): The Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock Department, in collaboration with several private commercial companies, has organized an exhibition showcasing modern agricultural machinery and equipment in southern Ghazni province.

The exhibition, held in the Nani area of Andar district, brought together farmers, agricultural specialists, and local officials. On display were drip-irrigation systems, laser land-levelling machines, soil-moisture testing devices, solar-powered pumps and seed and fertiliser spreaders.

Addressing the event, Agriculture Department spokesman Zakaria Hotak said the exhibition aimed to shift traditional farming practices towards scientific and modern agricultural methods.

He explained that introducing new technologies would help farmers reduce their workload, increase crop yields, save water and improve overall efficiency.

Hotak added that nearly $2 million had been invested in procuring the equipment showcased.

Abdul Wakil Mutawakil, representing the Peer Saeed commercial company, said they were working to import advanced agricultural machinery from various countries to support the sector’s modernization.

Agricultural machinery engineer Milad Talibi emphasized that using modern equipment plays a key role in increasing agricultural production and should be further expanded.

Abdul Rahim, a participant, told Pajhwok that the equipment was innovative and could help transform traditional farming in Ghazni into a modern system while reducing existing challenges.
