Jalali urges UAE to equip Afghan hospitals with modern tools

KABUL (Pajhwok): Public Health Minister Maulvi Noor Jalal Jalali has called on the UAE to help equip Afghan hospitals with modern medical equipment and eradicate polio in the country.

The Ministry of Public Health wrote on its X account that Jalali met with the new ambassador of the United Arab Emirates in Kabul, Saif Mohammad Al-Kutbi, yesterday evening.

The meeting conferred on UAE’s cooperation, joint efforts to combat polio, and continuous cooperation between the two countries in the health sector.

Maulvi Jalali praised the UAE’s continuous cooperation in the health sector and called their cooperation necessary in some important areas.

He called for equipping 318 hospitals with modern medical tools, polio eradication, cooperation in the diagnosis and treatment of non-communicable diseases, providing radiology equipment to Sheikh Zayed Hospital in Kabul, and capacity building in some other specialized areas.

For his part, the new UAE ambassador, referring to his country’s continued cooperation in the field of health, assured that he would fully cooperate in the fight against polio and the control of non-communicable diseases.

He added his country was committed to continuous cooperation with the Afghanistan Ministry of Public Health.
