AIBAK (Pajhwok): Three people were killed and five others injured in a traffic accident in Hazrat Sultan district of northern Samangan province, an official said on Monday.
Police spokesman Hashmatullah Rahmani said the incident occurred this morning when a Saracha-type vehicle collided with a tanker on the Aibak–Mazar-i-Sharif highway near Ghaznigak village.
He added that the victims, including women, were passengers of the Saracha vehicle and residents of Samangan province. They were taken to Samangan provincial hospital by the police traffic management team.
Preliminary investigations indicate that driver negligence was the likely cause of the accident.
