KABUL (Pajhwok): Five policemen were killed in an armed attack in Karak district of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, a media report said on Tuesday.
Dawn newspaper reported that the police were traveling in a vehicle when cam under attack from armed assailants in Gargarai area of Karak district. The attackers fled from the scene after opening fire.
The report said the vehicle was part of security team of a private gas company, and the suspects set the vehicle on fire following the attack.
The report confirmed that five police officers were killed in the incident.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the attack.
