KABUL (Pajhwok): A fire at a tourist complex in a Swiss ski resort town has claimed the lives of 40 people and left 115 others injured, media reports say
BBC Persian reported that the condition of many of the injured is “critical,” and that the victims are of various nationalities.
According to the report, due to the severity of the burns, some bodies are unrecognizable, and Swiss judicial authorities have ruled out the possibility of a “terrorist attack.”
The regional police commander said that the priority in the coming days is to identify the victims so that their bodies can be returned to their families as quickly as possible.
France’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also reported that eight of its citizens are missing and has suggested that French nationals may be among the victims.
French media have reported that at least two of the injured are French.
