KABUL (Pajhwok): Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, has urged religious scholars to guide people towards the right path with wisdom and kindness, emphasizing the importance of avoiding harsh or reproachful language.
He made the remarks at the graduation ceremony of Al-Jamiat-ul-Islami Darul Uloom religious seminary in southern Kandahar province, his office said in a statement.
The deputy prime minister described Islamic madrasas as key institutions for social reform, religious education, jihad, intellectual training and the Islamic movement.
He recalled: “Religious scholars, alongside the public, made countless sacrifices to bring an end to the 20-year occupation of Afghanistan and it was due to these sacrifices that an Islamic system now governs the country.”
He called on clerics to use religious wisdom to guide people towards the right path through gentle speechand not to address anyone in a harsh or reproachful manner.
He added the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) believed in political and economic participation for the country’s all-round development.
He said such participation had been strengthened over the past four years and was based on the advice and views of scholars, academic figures and professional experts.
He further said that, comparatively, Afghanistan’s current political authority was more stable and balanced than at any other time, adding that parallel political currents, opposing directions and actions threatening national decisions within the framework of the system and government had been eliminated.
Baradar said administrative participation and transparency, construction of economic infrastructure,delivery of public services and national satisfaction had increased and been strengthened.
He called on all countries to make appropriate use of IEA’s potential capacity and strong resolve through active regional and international engagement.
He said: “A secure Afghanistan is considered a major economic and political opportunity for all. No one should turn opportunities into threats.”
He also assured all citizens that no one’s rights or trust would be violated by IEA, urging the public to stand alongside their government in ensuring the country’s security, development and reconstruction.
