KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghanistan Kickboxing Federation (AKF) has secured membership in the International Kickboxing Federation (IKF), the General Directorate of Olympic, Physical Education and Sports announced on Wednesday.
In a post on its X, the directorate said IKF granted membership to AKF and appointed Mohammad Sher Hashimi as its president.
The directorate noted that AKF had been without IKF membership for over two decades, during which Afghan kickboxers were sometimes denied opportunities to compete abroad due to a lack of facilities and funding.
