KABUL (Pajhwok): US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping have discussed key issues, including trade, Taiwan, Russia’s war in Ukraine and the current situation in Iran.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said he had an “excellent” phone call with his Chinese counterpart on Wednesday.
“All very positive,” Trump wrote. “The relationship with China and my personal relationship with President Xi, is extremely good and we both realise how important it is to keep it that way.”
Meanwhile, the Chinese president said differences with the United States could be handled amicably if based on equality and mutual respect.
He added that reunification with Taiwan—a self-governing island China considers an integral part of its territory—remained a key priority for Beijing.
