KABUL (Pajhwok): At least 18 people have been killed and three others injured in a traffic accident in Egypt’s northeastern Port Said Governorate.
Al Jazeera reported that the incident occurred on Thursday when a truck collided with a passenger pickup vehicle.
Sources confirmed that 18 people lost their lives and three were injured in the crash.
The report noted that fatal traffic accidents are common in Egypt, with thousands killed each year, particularly in collisions involving minibuses and large trucks.
Speeding, poor road conditions, and weak enforcement of traffic laws are cited as major contributing factors to these accidents.
