Air Canada Express plane collides with vehicle at New York airport

KABUL (Pajhwok): A passenger aircraft operated by Air Canada Express collided with a ground vehicle after landing at LaGuardia Airport in New York, prompting US aviation authorities to temporarily suspend all flights due to an emergency.

According to Reuters, the aircraft, travelling from Montreal, Canada, struck the vehicle while landing at LaGuardia Airport.

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said it had ordered a temporary halt to all flights at the airport due to the incident.

The agency said the suspension would remain in place until 05:30 GMT, with the possibility of an extension.

In a separate notice, the FAA added that the airport could remain closed until 18:00 GMT, but provided no further details on the nature of the incident.
