KABUL (Pajhwok): Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan have discussed the negative impacts of the ongoing Middle East conflict, particularly on the energy sector.
The two leaders held a telephone conversation on Friday, the Kremlin reported.
“A deep exchange of views was held regarding the continuing escalation of military and political tensions in the Persian Gulf region. It was noted that ongoing hostilities could have serious consequences not only regionally but also globally, including for the energy, trade and logistics sectors,” the statement said.
During the call, both leaders also agreed on the need for an immediate ceasefire and emphasized the importance of peaceful solutions that respect the legitimate interests of all countries in the region.
