MAHMOOD RAQI (Pajhwok): A man has been arrested by security forces for allegedly killing his son with a hunting rifle in central Kapisa province, police said on Sunday.
In a statement, the Kapisa Police Headquarters said the incident occurred in Dadokhel village at around 7:00am today, located in the provincial centre.
The statement added that a local resident, identified as Abdul Muqeem, allegedly shot and killed his son, Muhajir, using a hunting rifle.
Police said personnel from the 1st police district responded promptly to the scene and arrested the suspect.
According to the statement, the case is currently under comprehensive investigation by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Kapisa Police to determine all aspects of the incident.
Police emphasised that security forces remain on duty around the clock to ensure public safety and will take firm and timely action against all criminal offences to strengthen stability and security in the province.
