KABUL (Pajhwok): Construction has begun on a new terminal and parking facility at Kandahar International Airport in southern Kandahar province, at a cost of 800 million afghanis, the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation (MoTC) said on Sunday.
In a statement, the ministry said the project would be implemented in two phases and is expected to be completed within two and a half years.
According to the statement, the new terminal will have the capacity to accommodate around 3,000 passengers and will be equipped with all necessary facilities.
The ministry confirmed that the total cost of the project is estimated at 800 million afghanis.
