KABUL (Pajhwok): UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has said there is no military solution to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, following weeks of destruction and suffering.
In a post on X, Guterres wrote: “I call for the resumption of talks to reach an agreement. The ceasefire must be strictly maintained. All violations must cease.”
Without directly referring to Iran and the United States, he stressed that all parties to the conflict must respect freedom of navigation, including in the Strait of Hormuz, in line with international law.
Meanwhile, Iran and the United States agreed to a two-week ceasefire last week.
