2 Afghan nationals killed, 18 injured in Balochistan traffic accident

KABUL (Pajhwok): Two Afghan citizens were killed and several others injured in a traffic accident in Balochistan, Pakistan, while reportedly attempting to migrate illegally to Iran.

The Pakistani newspaper Dawn reported that the incident occurred on Thursday night on a road linked to the Reko Diq project, following a collision involving three speeding vehicles.

According to the report, a total of three people, including two Afghan nationals, were killed and 18 others injured in the accident.

Authorities said the injured included Afghan women and children who were travelling toward the Iranian border and are believed to have been attempting an illegal crossing.

It was further reported that five of the injured are in critical condition and have been transferred to a civil hospital in Quetta for treatment.

Police say investigations into the circumstances of the accident are ongoing.
