KABUL (Pajhwok): At least 15 people were killed and 20 others injured after a passenger bus rolled into a gorge in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district on Monday.

According to the Hindustan Times, several others are feared dead following the accident.

The incident occurred near Kanote village when the bus, travelling from Ramnagar to Udhampur, reportedly lost control and plunged into a gorge. Local authorities immediately launched rescue operations at the scene.

Officials said the bus was negotiating a sharp bend on a mountainous road when the driver lost control. The vehicle then rolled down a steep, rocky slope of around 100 feet before coming to rest on a lower road.
