KABUL (Pajhwok): The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) in Afghanistan said on Monday that around 4.2 million Afghans will require emergency shelter and non-food assistance in 2026.
In a post on X, UN-Habitat stated: “In Afghanistan, 4.2 million people need emergency shelter and non-food items in 2026, highlighting the urgent need for housing support.”
It added: “At #WUF13 in Baku, the world is discussing housing—but for Afghan families, the need is immediate. We must act now to ensure adequate housing for all.”
