KABUL (Pajhwok): Police have arrested 28 people on charges of purchasing and selling drugs in eastern Nangarhar province over the past week.
In a statement, the provincial police headquarters said that 4,958 Zikab tablets, 1,141 K tablets, 40 grams of hashish, 37 grams of crystal meth, 14 grams of opium and two grams of heroin were also seized from the detainees.
It said the suspects had confessed to their crimes and would be handed over to judicial organs after initial investigations.
It added that cultivation, trafficking, buying and selling of narcotics were strictly prohibited and anyone involved in such illegal activities would be arrested and dealt with under the law.
