3 civilians martyred, 45 injured in Pakistani military regime’s strikes in Kunar

KABUL (Pajhwok): Three civilians were martyred and 45 others injured in attacks by Pakistani military regime on eastern Kunar province on Monday, the provincial information and culture department said.

Najibullah Hanif, the director of information and culture, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the attacks occurred after midday, around 2:00 pm, when Pakistani forces first launched drone strikes and later fired artillery shells on areas around the provincial capital.

He also said that Pakistani forces carried out attacks on several areas in the Marwara, Dangam, and Shultan districts.

According to Hanif, the attacks resulted in the martyring of three civilians and injuries to 45 others, most of whom were women and children.

He added that the campus of Syed Jamaluddin Afghan University was also targeted, causing damage to the building.

Meanwhile, local residents reported that Pakistani forces shelled Luqman village in Spin Boldak district of Kandahar with mortars.

According to residents, Afghan forces responded to the attack and launched retaliatory strikes on Pakistani military posts.

Local sources also said that on Sunday night, Afghan forces carried out retaliatory attacks on Pakistani troops in the Abdullah Kandak area of Spin Boldak, resulting in casualties among Pakistani military personnel.
