KABUL (Pajhwok): Russia’s Ministry of Energy has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening cooperation with Afghanistan in the electricity sector.
Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) Chief Executive Officer Mullah Abdul Haq Hamkar and Afghanistan Ambassador in Russia Mawlawi Gul Hassan Hassan met with Russian Deputy Energy Minister Vladimir Khazov in Moscow, the power utility said in a statement.
Hamkar described the expansion of bilateral cooperation in the energy sector between Afghanistan and Russia as important.
He and Mawlawi Gul Hassan Hassan also highlighted the importance of enhancing cooperation in electricity, technical fields and trade relations between the two countries, expressing appreciation for Russia’s support.
For his part, Khazov emphasised Russia’s commitment to cooperation with Afghanistan in the energy sector.
He added that expanding energy and economic relations with Afghanistan had consistently been a key part of their agenda and that efforts in this regard were ongoing.
