HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Security forces in western Herat province have arrested a man in connection with the killing of Arbab Mohammad Dawood Arbab, the head of the provincial Metalworkers’ Union.
Police said Arbab was killed in Herat City, the provincial capital, on Friday.
Dr. Syed Masoud Hosseini, spokesperson for the Herat police, told Pajhwok that following the incident, investigative and security agencies launched a comprehensive inquiry and succeeded in arresting the main suspect within 24 hours.
He added that, in initial confessions, the detainee stated the killing was carried out due to personal enmity.
He said the case remains under further investigation by security and judicial authorities and that final inquiry are ongoing.
